By Air

Nagpur City is linked to Mumbai (former Bombay), New Delhi (Capital of India), Kolkata (former Calcutta) and Pune via Air. Recently Nagpur Airport has been given status of an International Airport.

Nagpur's Airport, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport, was formerly called as "Sonegaon" Airport. It is approximately 11 Kms from Nagpur Central.

By Rail

Nagpur has a railway station in the city. Central location of Nagpur has helped it to emerge as an important railway junction. Nagpur serves as the junction between South-Eastern and Central Railway lines. A number of important trains service the station. One can approach Nagpur from any part of the country.

By Road

Since the city is located almost at the heart of Indian landscape, an extensive network of roads link Nagpur to various cities in Maharashtra and all over India. Many important tourist destinations like Aurangabad (504kms), Khajuraho (546kms), Bhopal (352kms), Kanha (266) are connected to Nagpur by road.

NAGPUR
   
 
This is the headquarter of the Nagpur division and district. It is situated on Central railway. The present city of Nagpur was founded at the beginning of the 18th century by the Gond Raja Bakht Buland. The city grew with the growth of the Bohnsla Kingdom and was considerably improved by the Rajas of that dynasty. This is second capital of Maharashtra and also known as orange city.

Ramtek
Ramtek is a small town, situated at a distance of approximately 42 km to the northeast of the Nagpur city of Maharashtra. It falls under the Nagpur district and is held in high regard by the Hindus. This is because this town is believed to be associated with Lord Rama. There is hill situated near Ramtek, known as the Ramgiri Hill. The hill houses a historical temple of Lord Rama, which is said to be more than 600 years old., this temple has greatly added to the travel attraction of the city. The major attractions of Ramtek comprise of the 27 Brahmanical style temple that have been constructed at top of the hill. Amongst them is the Lakshmana Temple, which dates back to as far back as 1400 AD

Khindsi Lake
Located just 5 kms from Ramtek, this beautiful lake, surrounded on all sides by verdant forests, is a must-see. Trekking aside, the big attraction here is water sports. RAMDHAM
Another testimony of the Hindu structure is about to catch the attention of the world. Ramdham a hindu temple situated in Ramtek,Nagpur,Madhay Pradehs has made it's mark in the limca book of records.The temple is known for its unique OM structure which is 350 feet long & 10.5 feet high &11 feet wide.Randham despite catering to the keen interest of the spiritually and religious inclined has also become one of the India's tourism parks attracts a lot of tourists.
 
Dragon Palace
Dragon Palace Temple is a Buddhist temple, situated in Kamptee, a satellite township of Nagpur district. It is dedicated to Lord Buddha and boasts of striking architecture and picturesque landscape. The temple was founded by Mother Noriko Ogawa Society of Japan, in association with Ms Sulekha Kumbhare, the MLA and Minister of State of Water and Sanitation. A unique temple, it has emerged as one of the most popular attractions for the people coming to the district of Nagpur
 
 
Chikhaldara
This is the place where Bheema killed the villainous Heechaka in a bout & threw him in to the valley. It came to be known as Heechakadara-chilkhaldara is corruption. The only hill resort in the vidharbha region it has the added distention of being the only coffee growing area in Maharashtra It abound in wildlife.

 TADOBA NATIONAL PARK
Tadoba national park is the most attractive spot in Chandrapur district and is situated in the heart of the reserved forest. It has become an ideal resort for the visitors who want to get away from the din and bustle of the city life and the modern civilization. The following are the animals commonly met with in the Tadoba Park, i.e. Tiger, panther, bison sloth bear, hyaena, jackal, wild dog, blue bull, sambar, cheetah, barking deer and a variety of other animals.

TOTLADOH
The Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru National Park is situated in this area. It is surrounded by Satpuda hills providing a pleasant climate. This National Park is best known for animal viewing, bird watching and trekking. There is also situated a hydroelectric project, a joint venture of Govt. of Maharashtra and Madhya Predesh.

 KHINDSEY LAKE

 NAGZIRA

 NAWEGAON BANDH
Nawegaon, Vidarbha's most popular forest resort, is the ultimate adventure spot. It is said to have been built by Kolu Patel Kohli in the beginning of the 18th century. Make sure you visit the deer park, the Dr. Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, the three beautiful gardens and the children's park.  NAGARDHAN
TNagardhan is an old town and was formerly of considerable importance as it gave its name to the district. It was founded by a Suryawanshi King, but Mr. Hiralal supposes it to have been established by King named Nandvardhan belonging to the Shail Dynasty. There is a fort said to have been built by the Bhonslas with brick walls.

 CHIKHALDARA
TVidarbha's only hill station. About 240 Km from Nagpur. Situated on the ranges of Satpura at a height if 1118 mtrs, it is Maharastra's only coffee growing area. According to legend Bhima killed Kichak here and threw him in the valley so this place came to be known Kichakdara, and later Chikhaldara. Tourist Places: Bhimkund, Nehru Vanaspati Udyan, Adivasi museum, Sunset Point,Gavilgad Fort, Semadoh & Shakkar tanks, Shiv Temple. Excursions: Narnala fort, Melghat Tiger Project. Karmazari : Pench National park
How to go : PenchNational Park ( Madhya Pradesh ) is near Khwasa which is 90 km from Nagpur on Nagpur - Seoni road .Nagpur is well connected by Rail,road,Air . Regular buses from MP bus terminus / taxis are available .Get down at Khwasa .
Go to Turia gate by private vehicles . It is preferable to arrange one earlier .

Area - 758 sq km ,of which 293 sq km is core area .
Accomodation and food : Private hotels at Turia gate and Forest department accommodation at Karmazari gate .

Kanha National Park
Kanha National Park is a national park and a Tiger Reserve in the Mandla and Balaghat districts of Madhya Pradesh, India.
There is a large tiger population in the park (131 tigers as on June 2006). The park also has a significant population of leopards, the sloth bear and Indian wild dog (Cuon alpinus dukhunensis). The population of leopards is estimated to 80, the wild dogs to 396 and the sloth bears to 111 individuals. Rare Indian wolf (Canis (lupus) indica) can be found in the far east part of the park.

Sevagram Gandhiji’s  Ashram
Sevagram, located near Nagpur (Maharashtra State), was Gandhiji’s headquarters and place for experiments from 1934 to 1940. He lived as the villagers lived i.e. without electricity and telephone and built the Ashram house himself with materials available locally.
The first hut built in the ashram was Adi Nivas around which was a prayer ground.
One can see Ba Kuti and Bapu Kuti, residences of Kasturba and Gandhiji respectively.

How to get there: Sevagram is 75 km from Nagpur station.  Road transport to Sevagram is easily available from Nagpur Station. It is also connected with railway rout.
Best time to visit:  October to March.

 

Acharya Vinoba Bhave’s Brahma Vidya Mandir Ashram

Brahma Vidya Mandir Ashram is situated at Paunar, 3 km from Sevagram Ashram on the road to Nagpur in Maharashtra. The ashram was established by Acharya Vinoba Bhave,the disciple of Mahatma Gandhi, who was declared as the First Satyagrahi by Gandhiji. The ashram dedicated to swarajya, rural sufficiency, is run by women
Sevagram is 830 km from Mumbai and the nearest airport is at Nagpur, 88 km away. The place can be reached either from Wardha or Sevagram railway station. Wardha is only 9 km from Sevagram. It is also well connected by roads
